Statement by Justice Giudice
With sincere regret, the President of the Australian Industrial Relations Commission, Justice Geoffrey Giudice, today announced the sudden death of Commissioner Bernie Frawley on the night of September 13.
"We have lost a fine colleague and a loyal friend. On behalf of the Commission, its Members and Registry staff, I extend our sympathies to Commissioner Frawley's family and friends," Justice Giudice said.
Bernard John Frawley was appointed a Commissioner in 1989 after serving as the First Assistant Secretary in the federal Department of Industrial Relations. He had held that post since 1981.
