STATEMENT AND DIRECTIONS
[1] In light of the submissions made at the hearing on 27 February 2004 we have formulated directions for the filing and service of evidence and submissions in these applications. The directions are set out below. There are some additional matters.
[2] Where witness evidence is to be relied on we shall expect that so far as practicable the witness statements filed will constitute the evidence in chief.
[3] The matters will be listed for hearing on the following dates:
30 August to 3 September,
6 to 10 September,
27 September to 1 October and
5 to 8 October 2004.
[4] At this stage all of the hearings will be in Melbourne, but consideration will be given to sitting in other locations on application. There will be a further directions hearing on 15 July 2004 to consider any such application. At that time we shall also hear the parties on the time required to complete the case including the arrangements for submissions.
[5] There will be liberty to any party to apply.
[6] So far as practicable all submissions, exhibits and other materials will be made available on a special page on the World Wide Web. That page will be accessible through the AIRC Home Page under the description "Family Provisions Case".
[7] We direct as follows:
(a) The applicants in all matters are to file and serve on all other parties and interveners on or before 30 April 2004:
(i) written contentions in support of the applications; and
(ii) all evidentiary material including witness statements on which they seek to rely.
(b) Parties or interveners in support in all matters are to file and serve on all other parties and interveners on or before 14 May 2004:
(i) written contentions in support of the applications; and
(ii) all evidentiary material including witness statements on which they seek to reply.
(c) The respondents in all matters and parties or interveners in support of the respondents are to file and serve on all other parties and interveners on or before 2 July 2004:
(i) written contentions in response to the applications; and
(ii) all evidentiary material including witness statements on which they seek to reply.
